Creating a Community From Afar
As a preschool teacher, I faced a big challenge. I know that I can not replicate the experiences and environment the children had before school was closed. I found myself struggling with how to provide the same play-based learning in a virtual world. I reached out to fellow preschool teachers and together we strategized ways to create a new environment, that stays true to developmentally appropriate practices.
My main focus is to think of the families and how to lessen the stress in their lives. The following videos are ideas and activities parents can reasonably participate with their children at home. My hope is to continue to connect with activities that are fun, engaging and reminiscent of our classroom experience.
Warmly, Natalie
